Welcome to my website. Hi, My name is Kimberly Oberg and I own Alternative Hearing. Being born with a hearing loss and refusing to wear hearing devices growing up, presented many challenges in my life. I struggled in school, had difficulty understanding conversations with my friends, and was constantly singing the wrong words to popular songs. Since my Dad was a farmer with hearing challenges a well, we quickly developed good communication habits to keep the sanity in our household. When I was around 20 years old and joined the workforce, I realized that I was tired of pretending that I could hear. It was time to face reality, get out of the denial stage and accept that I needed help with hearing devices. Every day since that day, I get up and wear my hearing devices all day whether I'm with people or home alone. The brain of a hearing challenged person works ten times harder than that of a normal hearing person. No wonder we see loved ones sitting in a chair in the corner of family gatherings refusing to participate in conversations. It doesn't have to be that way. It starts with an appointment for a hearing evaluation. Then it takes a desire to want to hear better. Finding a solution for YOUR lifestyle, YOUR needs, and YOUR budget is MY priority. Everybody's hearing challenges are unique. Whether you need hearing devices, assisted listening devices, an amplified telephone or custom hearing protection, I'm here to help you. So give us a call! I look forward to helping you achieve better hearing!

Quality of Life
Communication is the backbone of society. Untreated hearing loss can make communicating at school, work, and in everyday situations more difficult, which can result in a withdrawal from social situations and even depression. Wearing hearing devices can restore our ability to communicate effectively, leading to a higher quality of life.
